What Makes Our Pregnancy Pelvic Floor Care Different
Most pelvic floor therapy care focuses only on the muscles.
At Optimize Pelvic Health, we look deeper, because pregnancy symptoms are rarely cause by just one reason.
A Whole Body, Evidenced – Based Approached
Your pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation. We assess and treat your entire system that impacts the pelvic floor symptoms, including:
- Pelvic floor muscle function: not just strength but the ability to relax, lengthen and coordinate which is ESSENTIAL for vaginal birth.
- Stress and nervous system patterns: the pelvic floor is the only group of muscles with direct nervous system input from stress, the more stress the more pelvic floor activation.
- Posture: postural changes to compensate for a growing baby bump compresses the nerves to the pelvic floor including the pubic symphysis.
